School Ethics Commission rejects complaint against Jersey City BOE President Morris

The agency that oversees school board ethics has rejected a complaint by the former Jersey City board of education president that the current president attempted to convince the board to hire a Newark law firm that allegedly “wined and dined” him.
In a 7-page ruling issued Oct. 22, the State Ethics Commission, under the Department of Education, found “insufficient facts and circumstances” in the complaint by board member Natalia Ioffe “to lead a reasonable person to believe” the School Ethics Act was violated by current board President Dejon Morris.
